The Shridhan VFS Series is a range of Vertical Mounting Magnetic Float Level Switches designed for single or multiple liquid level sensing and control in open or pressurized vessels.
The VFS Series uses a magnetic float operating around a fixed stationary stem. Powerful permanent magnets inside the float actuate a hermetically sealed reed switch mounted inside the stem as the liquid level rises or falls.
The resulting reed switch action can be used to make or break an electrical contact at predetermined liquid levels. The series is designed for conductive and non-conductive liquids and can be configured for different liquid, temperature, pressure and installation requirements.
A float surrounds a fixed stationary stem and contains permanent magnets. As the liquid level rises or falls, the float moves along the stem.
The magnetic field generated by the magnets inside the float actuates the hermetically sealed Reed switch positioned inside the stem.
The Reed switch then makes or breaks the electrical contact at the preset level, providing a switching signal for level control or alarm functions.

The exact temperature and pressure capability depends on the selected float construction and configuration. Final selection should therefore be based on the application-specific liquid, specific gravity, operating temperature and operating pressure.

Changeover contact options are also available. The appropriate contact configuration and switching capacity should be selected according to the connected load.
The VFS Series is designed for vertical installation on vessels. Where direct installation on the vessel is not possible or desirable, the vertical float switch can also be installed in an external chamber.

For applications where the switch cannot be installed directly on the vessel, the VFS Series can be installed in an external chamber.

External chambers can be used for applications involving process isolation, high-pressure or high-temperature service, corrosive applications and onshore or offshore installations.
