Product Description

The Shridhan CFS Series Cable Suspended Float Operated Level Switch is a simple, user-friendly and reliable level switch designed for liquid level detection and automatic level control.

The CFS uses a dual-chambered, injection-moulded polypropylene float with an internal micro switch and moving steel-ball mechanism. As the liquid level changes, the float tilts around its pivot and the steel ball operates the micro switch to open or close the electrical circuit.

The switching differential can be adjusted by changing the position of the adjustable stopper. The level switch uses an integral three-core flexible electrical cable with PVC or Neoprene outer insulation.

The CFS Series is intended for applications including liquid level monitoring, pump control, potable water, sewage, factory drainage and liquids containing sludge or suspended solids.

  • Suitable for automatic switching of pumps, submerged pumps, solenoid valves and alarms

How the CFS Series Works

The CFS float is connected directly to an electrical cable. A fixed micro switch and moving steel ball are enclosed within the float casting.

When the liquid level changes, the float tilts up or down around a pivot formed by an adjustable stopper or support pipe. This movement causes the steel ball to move and operate the micro-switch plunger.

The micro switch then opens or closes the electrical circuit through potential-free contacts. These contacts can be used to operate auxiliary electrical devices such as pumps, alarms and solenoid valves.

Installation Modes

The brochure describes two installation arrangements for the CFS Series.

Installation Mode Description
Top Mounted with Adjustable Stopper The cable is suspended through a top clamp or flange. An adjustable stopper moves along the cable and is positioned at the required fixation point using an internal O-ring.
Top Mounted with Support Pipe A support pipe with the required number of cable float switches is suspended from the tank top through a flange. The cables are tied or clamped to the support pipe at various points to create fixation points.

Switching Differential

The switching differential is adjustable by changing the position of the adjustable stopper. The fixation point determines the level at which the float achieves switch actuation.

According to the brochure, the location of the fixation point depends on the preset level, float shape, weight and differential angle.
